Road rage

The Daily Telly.

To you, that angry, horn-blasting tailgater is suffering road rage but doctors have another name for it – intermittent explosive disorder and a study suggests it is more common than realised.

Actually, the person that engages in this is pushing some serious criminal boundaries - I don’t think this kind of behaviour should be dignified with a description and possible treatment that amounts to a get out of jail free card.

Still, knowing that the disorder shares an acronym with another explosive device regularly used to kill Coalition trops in Iraq, I guess that would make road ragers not only criminal and dangerous, but also similar to the improvised killers used in modern guerilla warfare.

You can see the courtroom action now.

Your honour, my client is a victim of intermittent explosive disorder, and therefore not responsible for his actions

But there can be no doubt of personal guilt in this case, a fetching orange jumpsuit and sentence of rendition to Guantanomo Bay would be totally justified.

Heh seems like we both wrote about this. I put my 2 cents over at Car Advice. I think the study is misquoted, as they were only using people who suffered from other types of problems for the study.

There’s a special scientific term for drawing shonky conclusions like that: “bollocks”.
