You have nothing to lose but your bicycle chains!
Just over a week ago I floated the idea of a Sydney bicycle bloggers meetup.
I’d like to propose a Sydney cycling bloggers meetup next month at a venue and time to be decided by consensus. I’m thinking the midddle of July when TdF heroics are concentrating our minds on cycling.
Well a decision has been made after a UN like debate and filibuster and a time has been set to get you away from that keyboard or saddle - Wednesday, July 5th at 7:30 ish at the Rose of Australia Hotel in Erskineville.
The Rose is a good venue because in addition to a fine selection of cleansing ales, potent cocktails and decent food, there is also ample bicycle friendly space available outside and a nice lounge at the back of the front bar. I’ll get there a bit early and try to commandeer a choice location.
Now one of the difficulties of blogging meetups is knowing just who you’re meeting up with, I’ve attended a few of these things in the past and usually a felt fedora with a rakish tilt or a rose clenched between your teeth is de rigeur, in this case nothing much is going to change, headgear is always a fine fashion choice.
The easy way to find me(us?) will be the controversial presence of a bicycle helmet. Yes, we will use one of the more contentious restraints on our freedom to ride unencumbered as a rallying point. Look for the red and black Specialized Decibel.

Pedaller doesn’t think he’d be allowed in the Pub owing to widespread discrimination against 4-legged hairy humans, but is hoping that his 2-legged human pets (Andrew & Jan) will be able to attend (sans pedapod).
Yaaay! We’d all love to see you two there, it wouldn’t be a complete bicycle blogging meetup without you.

Looking forward to this. I wonder if Pedaller will be arriving in a Pedapod ? That would get people talking out the front of the Rose
