H3 Oh no!

At a time when we are approaching real awareness about the issues of climate change, energy and sustainability, and begin to do something about addressing them, Holden Australia decides to buck the trend with the importation into this country of the Hummer H3.
Holden yesterday announced it would introduce the smallest of the Hummer range of four-wheel-drives in Australia next year.
Bad corporate citizenship doesn’t get this good, and it just goes to show that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. The auto industry in this country is a protected species as far as manufacturing goes and receives vast amounts of taxpayers largess in order to keep them in business.
The recent launch of the new Commodore by Holden combined with the H3 indicates that the company is only prepared to take and give nothing back to this country as far as sustainability, energy and climate is concerned. Let’s hope that recent consumer sentiment regarding large vehicle purchases contrive to make this bad idea die a quick and painful death.
