The doping authorities are getting smarter and more pro-active in targeting specific athletes.
With the Tour de France just weeks away, there’s a high stakes game of cat and mouse between a half-dozen so-called suspect riders identified by the UCI and anti-doping testers. Anne Gripper, director of the UCI’s anti-doping program, told the AFP that […]

Landis continues to scale new heights in the shark jumping event. Time for another test I think.
In his newly published book, Tour de France champion Floyd Landis claims the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency spent so much money in an obsessed mission to nail him for drug violations, it passed on prosecuting other cases […]
One of the […]

Ivan Basso walks the green mile.
Since I confessed my errors I have started to feel better with myself and towards my family. It is true that I deceived for one year because I was afraid of being uncovered, but it is human to make mistakes.
Now I will pay the consequences of my errors, but […]

There’s an interesting perspective on the doping issue in Velo News that makes several notable points and at least one contentious statement.
Ask the Doctor.
For four years I’ve been privately interviewing professional cyclists who are in recovery from doping so that I might better understand what draws them to dope and what happens to them once […]

Via Cyclingnews, Indurain on Riis.
I don’t want to detract from what Riis did, but my impression is that he did not overwhelm me, that it was me who lost the Tour. I did all I could to be in front and at the end I did not reach this goal. Riis and many others were […]

Dietz, Henn and shortly, Aldag.
BONN, May 23 (CP) - In an interview with the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, T-Mobile General Manager Bob Stapleton has revealed that Sports Manager Rolf Aldag will admit to having doped as an active rider. “Rolf had a weak moment,” Stapleton said.
Any other weaklings out there? Say it ain’t so Eric? […]

So, Landis was in the room when Geoghegan made the call to Lemond but didn’t hear it. It’ll be interesting to see if this holds up under further scrutiny. Either way, in the battle for hearts, we have a self inflicted wound that no amount of winning may heal. Increasingly Landis is looking like the […]

Greg Lemond.
You hear a lot of these athletes saying we should take down USADA, we should take down WADA, we should get rid of the UCI. Today I say thank God there’s WADA and USADA. Because we all know what’s happening to the sport of cycling. I love cycling
