Everything old is new again

This is a mid 90’s Alex Pong CWS/BB kit a mate has in the box, practically new 489 grams for the lot. I lusted over them back then and still do now. Not much different from the stuff we have today. It’s worth remembering the visionaries.

The power of bicycles

Lovely mini doco on a program that sends bicycles to Africa. Bicycles are life changing. 7:30 long.

Friday roundup

Missed last week due to some personal matters, so I’ll grab a few posts from the past two weeks just to catch up.
There’s one big story really worth telling this week and CFSMTB does just that calling for the day to be a Stuart O’Grady Day. Beers for Stuey!
One of the most important things I […]

New horizons at Trek Australia

What […]

Of course, these weren’t typical bikes; rather, they were fast-moving recumbent racers, with sleek designs that […]

Another Australian cycling blog

Through comments I’ve just been introduced to another Australian blog. Not exactly new, GT Veloce has been going since 2006 and obviously still has a bit to learn about introductions. But hey, he did get my attention. Here is what he had to say on a long dead post. You can check it out in […]

Abbott and Amgen

The SMH beat me to this post so no other commentary is necessary.
Tony Abbott is the most puritanical of men - except, it seems, when it comes to his taste in clothing. Last year, the Health Minister wore a T-shirt promoting the Australian Hotels Association during the annual Pollie Pedal bike ride for charity. […]

Partysan to offer a retraction

Over the past two days I spent a bit of time on the phone with the terrific young people at clubbing publication Partysan discussing a particularly offensive satirical Last Word piece by one of their freelance writers.
The conversations I had were fruitful, with the publication responding quickly to my concerns and those of other […]

Roubaix on SBS

Just got off the phone with SBS and am happy to report that a one hour highlights package of Stuart O’Gradys big win will be broadcast on Sunday the 29th at 11 am. Better late than never in seeing the little Aussie battler kissing a brick.
