Bike Hugger has posted a highly amusing rant about life in bicycle retail. It’s something I’ve riffed on about before here but never this good. Here’s a taste.
Hi. Thanks for coming into my shop and taking part of the consumer experience. Your disposable income is the sole source of our meager profit margins that support […]

Dietz, Henn and shortly, Aldag.
BONN, May 23 (CP) - In an interview with the German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, T-Mobile General Manager Bob Stapleton has revealed that Sports Manager Rolf Aldag will admit to having doped as an active rider. “Rolf had a weak moment,” Stapleton said.
Any other weaklings out there? Say it ain’t so Eric? […]

Fairfield Council will launch the first bicycle loan scheme in NSW this week where residents will be able to borrow a bicycle for at least two months to explore the area’s cycling paths.
About 100 bikes have been donatedand […]

Is it just me that thinks Oscar Pereiro, should not be allowed to wear the Yellow Jersey until he gives a DNA sample.

Is it just me that finds Will Geoghegan’s beer defense not only oddly amusing but highly ironic?
That’s all for today, back to what you were doing.

You wouldn’t know it by the headline and lead paragraph, but today’s Sunday Telegraph spins a story about Clover Moore pledging to turn Sydney into a scooterised version of Rome on the Pacific without a single quote by her on the topic - instead, Moore is quoted talking about cycling.
Clover’s scooter crusade.
LORD Mayor Clover […]

So, Landis was in the room when Geoghegan made the call to Lemond but didn’t hear it. It’ll be interesting to see if this holds up under further scrutiny. Either way, in the battle for hearts, we have a self inflicted wound that no amount of winning may heal. Increasingly Landis is looking like the […]

One of the outcomes with the current job is that my cycling commute is now longer, much of which is on the locally famed Cooks River Cycleway, marked connecting back streets, to and through Olympic Park, then via Sliverwater Bridge and more cycleway and marked back streets to Rydalmere.
Not having been a regular cycleway […]
